To say this car is already beautiful is an understatement, from the Jag. smoke grey paint to the baseball glove brown interior, and polished silver accents this car is stunning. But like a girl that looks beautiful until she takes her make up off, this car is great to look at until you drive it. As the owner said it look great but drives horrible like his first VW based Speedster kit car many years ago. This where CoolRydes Customs comes into the picture. We are taking this once ill handling beauty and turning it into a vehicle that is the complete package. We are making it handle and drive as good as it looks, a TRUE PERFROMANCE MACHINE...

Local Buddy's So-Cal Speedster
Bull's Runner, this little Speedster belongs to a good friend that has logged more miles then he or I can remember. When he came to me to see if we would be interested in building a not so show quality build (like he was used to seeing come out of our shop), I let him know that we don't always post up some of the "other" builds we do. You see not everybody wants a car that is nearly too clean to drive everyday, or at least every weekend. So most of the vehicles we build are over the top, we still build them to be driven. So Larry Bull's car is a great example of a basic built driver, that can look good and drive like a dream. Oh and not cost a bunch of $$$$$$$

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, MIKE MENDEOLA WANTED TO BUILD A BUGGY THAT WOULD BEAT CORVETS UP AND DOWN THE STREET AND SEND THEM HOME WITH THEIR TAIL BETWEEN THEIR LEGS. ORIGINALLY BUILT WITH A SUBARU 6 CYLINDER ENGINE PUTTING OUT MORE THEN 300hp, COOLRYDES SO-CAL CUSTOMS AND MENDEOLA HAD FOUND THEY HAD BUILT A PROJECTILE (A CAR THAT WAS SO FAST IT COULD ONLY GO IN A STRAIGHT LINE. SO MENDEOLA AND THEIR TEAM OF ENGINEERS AND A COUPLE WELL KNOWN ROAD RACE CHASSIS DESIGNERS SET DOWN AND DESIGNED WHAT NOW KNOW AS THE MENDEOLA SUSPENSION. THIS TOOK THIS LITTLE CAR TO INSTANT EXOTIC CAR STATUS. BEING ABLE TO ALREADY ACCELERATE FROM ZERO TO 60 mph IN UNDER 4 SECONDS AND NOW BEING ABLE TO OUT HANDLE MOST SPORTS CARS BY PULLING OVER 1.04 "G'S" ON THE LATERAL SKID. 66' Original Meyers Manx Street Machine Build
CoolRydes Customs has been asked to take this fun little part time off road dune buggy and turn it into a more exciting street machine by adding a full state of the art performance suspension system, a Porsche 5 speed transaxle, and CoolRydes Customs Pro-built performance engine.
